Frequently asked questions

1 - Where does Nairn Highland Games take place?            
In the town of Nairn, on the park area called Nairn Links, by the beaches of the Moray Firth.
 
2 - How much are tickets to Nairn Highland Games?
The Games can be enjoyed free of charge by everyone, unless you wish a location within the arena zone – in which case the 2025 ticket price is £10 per person. Children under eleven are free, and young people aged eleven to seventeen are £5


3 - How can I book a traders stall at Nairn Highland Games?                                                                            
The traders’ stalls are outside the Games Arena, and are booked through -

4 - Is there car parking at Nairn Highland Games?
There is a close, convenient car park at Viewfield House.
£5 parking charge, but the Games can then be watched free.


5 - Are Nairn Highland Games suitable for people with disabilities to attend?
We try to accommodate all reasonable requests, and if you require a carer and wish to enter the arena, then a single fee of £10 covers you both. We have designated blue-badge parking in Viewfield, closest to the through-route to the Games.

6 - How do I enter or get information about the Nairn Half Marathon?
Entries and further information are undertaken by the organisers – Nairn Road Runners

7 -Where is the nearest cash machine to Nairn Games?
The nearest cash machine is at the Co-op on Nairn High Street (6 mins walk from the car park).
 
8 - What food and drink options are available at Nairn Highland Games?
Nairn Links is bustling with food stalls and a beer tent on Games Day, and there are neighbouring pubs, restaurants and all the food of the fairground.


9 - What are the directions to Nairn Highland Games?

10 - What's on at this year's Nairn Highland Games?
Solo Piping (morning & afternoon) and Junior Athletics (morning). Massed Pipe Bands. Afternoon programme begins at 1pm with Track and Field, Piping, Dancing, Heavy Events and the Tug of War.

11 - Is there covered seating?
No but there is some seating around the arena in the ticketed area.

12 - Is there a Highland Dancing Competition?
Yes, the Highland Dancing Competitions will take place throughout the day

13 - What time do the events start?
The first events start at 10.30am – and most can be entered online. Please note that for competitors entering on the day, all events have registration deadlines that must be met.

14 - Can I bring my dog to Nairn Highland Games?
Yes, you can bring your dog (or even your Wookie) along to Nairn Highland Games.
It is important to note:
– there will be large numbers attending
– the starters pistol for track events is very loud and may disturb them
– all owners must keep their dog under control at all times.
– you are responsible for picking up your dog’s mess so bring bags and dispose of responsibly.

 
15 - Can I bring my own chair to sit on, outside the arena?
Yes, please do bring your own chair or rug to sit on. There is no seating provided outside the arena.
 
16 - What clothes and footwear are suitable at Nairn Games?
Well – we are an outdoor event in the North of Scotland – so check the weather and plan accordingly.
 
17 - What else should I bring?
Bring your friends and family. We’d love to see them (and you) enjoy this day with us!
